John Applegate is the Managed File Transfer Strategy and Business Development leader for BMC focused on accelerating the Digital Business Automation (DBA) product line’s penetration of the Managed File Transfer (MFT) market. A pioneer in the MFT space, John brings a wealth of technical and industry knowledge gathered over 25 years focused on crafting secure and reliable data transfer and collaboration solutions that drive business transformation for organizations around the world. As a thought leader and solution evangelist, John collaborates closely with members of the product management, solution marketing, pre-sales software consulting, sales, and engineering teams to ensure that Digital Business Automation’s financial and strategic objectives are met. In this capacity, John also regularly meets with customers as an advisor to understand their needs and provide strategic guidance.

Prior to BMC, John held technical, business-level, customer-facing, and management roles in software development, consulting, solution architecture, sales/channel enablement, solutions marketing and business development for Axway and SEEBURGER. He is recognized in the IT industry for his ability to both define business strategy and deliver on technology initiatives for customers. John holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Arizona.
